KUALA LUMPUR: Digital signage and interactive media player Kreateevee Sdn Bhd has launched an interactive "multitouch table" — a touch-sensitive computer kiosk — which enables simultaneous interaction by up to six people at a time.
This kiosk is larger than the typical, standing type which can only be accessed by one person at a time. Kreateevee’s table measures 1.1m long, 0.9m wide and 0.85m high.
It was developed by the MSC Malaysia-status company, which was recently in fourth place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2008 — a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in Asia Pacific.
Frankie Chen, Kreateevee's executive chairman, said the Minority Report movie has always fascinated its audiences with its images of sci-fi cutting-edge, multiple-gesture interactivity between man and computer.
He said the multitouch table is a forerunner of that kind of technology; applications such as football games and music album browsing can be custom-built into the kiosk for customers. Also, Kreateevee is looking for partners from the creative industry to build applications for the device. Interested parties should go to the company website,
www.kreateevee.com.
